Our step was a relentless vision for a stronger, more connected Africa.
Our journey began by building a simple online network that connected students from various universities. We saw firsthand the desire for collaboration and resource-sharing. But as we grew, we realized a deeper, more pressing need: to equip students with the skills required to thrive in the modern labor market.
This led us to create the VarsityScape Academy, our own online university for in-demand skills. We conducted live classes using a messy patchwork of different tools—Zoom, Google Meet, and Slack. It was effective, but it was also a struggle. This experience taught us two powerful lessons:
Students are disengaged, and completion rates for exclusively on-demand courses are staggeringly low.
Juggling multiple applications created friction for both instructors and learners, hindering the very engagement we sought to create.
This experience was our wake-up call. We saw a new path: to build a platform that unifies all learning tools into one seamless ecosystem.
