How to Issue Certificates of Completion

1 min read

Overview #

VarsityScape allows you to issue verifiable credentials. You can design custom certificates that are automatically awarded when a student hits a specific milestone (e.g. when they complete the course).

Step 1: Create a Certificate Template #

  1. Open your Course and click the Certificate tab.
  2. Click Create Certificate.
  3. Title: Enter the official credential name (e.g., “Certificate of Completion”).
  4. Description: Add a brief note about what this certifies (e.g., “Awarded for demonstrating proficiency in…”).
  5. Issued By: Enter your organization’s name (e.g., “Tech City NG”).

Step 2: Design the Badge #

  • Badge Image: Upload your custom badge design or academy crest.
    • Example: Many partners use prestigious designs or badges, to signal credibility.
  • Supported Formats: PNGs, JPEGs, and GIFs under 2MB.

Step 3: Set Issuance Criteria #

  • Target Level: Define the completion logic (e.g., “Select certificate to be assigned upon completion”).
  • Once set, the system will automatically generate and email the certificate to any student who completes 100% of the course modules.

Troubleshooting & FAQ #

  • Can I revoke a certificate?
Yes. In the Certificates tab, you can view a list of all issued credentials and revoke them if necessary.
  • Do students get a PDF?
Yes. Students can download a high-resolution PDF to share anywhere.
