Overview #
Your Learner Profile is what instructors see when they join their academy and what other students see in the community. A complete profile builds trust and helps you network.
Step 1: Accessing Profile Settings #
- Log in to your dashboard.
- Look for your Profile icon in the bottom-left corner of the sidebar.
- Click the icon or select Profile & Settings from the pop-up menu.
Step 2: Customizing Your Identity #
- Profile Photo: Upload a clear, professional headshot.
- Why? Students with photos get 3x more replies in Community discussions.
- Display Name: Use your real name (e.g., “Chioma Adebayo”) so your certificates are issued correctly.
- Bio: Write a short introduction with your title and bio.
- Example: “Product Designer based in Lagos. Learning to build accessible web apps.”
Step 3: Social Links #
You can connect your external professional presence to your VarsityScape profile. This is useful for sharing your portfolio with instructors.
- LinkedIn / GitHub / Website: Paste your URLs in the respective fields. These will appear as clickable icons on your profile card.
Step 4: Profile Visibility #
Toggling this ON/OFF will determine if other people can find your account via search.
Step 5: More About You #
You can choose to answer extra demographic questions to help measure our impact and build a more inclusive platform.
Troubleshooting & FAQ #
- Why can’t I change my email address?
For security reasons, email changes are currently locked. If you need to update your login email, please contact VarsityScape Support. - Will my profile changes update on my Certificate?
Yes. If you realize your name was spelled wrong, correct it here in Profile Settings. Then, go back to your Certificate page and refresh to see the updated name on your credential.
